ITERATIVE INNOVATION DESIGN SPRINT
OPPORTUNITY
An innovation challenge was undertaken by a cross-functional team of marketers and product developers to develop 3 new product concepts in a 10-day period. Research validation was required to support innovation efforts through the subsequent stage-gate process.
METHODOLOGY
Over 3-days, a series of quantitative online concept screens and same-day qualitative design workshops were executed to provide creative direction with a foundation of quantitative guidance.
DAY 1 - Brainstorm / workshopping, afternoon focus groups and evening quantitative concept screen
DAY 2 - Morning refinement workshop, afternoon focus groups (1 with the best respondents from the previous evening and 1 with fresh respondents), evening quantitative concept screen
DAY 3 - Daytime refinement workshop, evening focus groups (1 with the best respondents from the previous evening and 1 with fresh respondents)
IMPACT
Workshopping and qualitative research supported innovation development, with quantitative concept screens serving to validate the priorities and directions taken. Though, physically taxed by the 3-day sunrise-to-sunset series, the innovation team was able to develop more than their quota of innovations with insights to move from concepts into product development.
